Waited for the rain, the rain came, I got ill. I plaid too meny 'uter gaims. Did one postcard-sized painting which now I look at it, isn't finished. Watched a lot of crap, anyone else watched Carpoolers? I'm kind of enjoying it but a thought struck me, wouldn't it have been a lot better if each episode was a single continuous shot of the four of them in the car? I guess that's a bit post midnight channel4 in the 90s when they showed weird-arsed/good comedy, not something any tv executive is going to risk his career on.

I'm nearly earning money, that weird papery stuff that I sometimes fold in that thin leather thing and put in my back pocket thing. Waiting for the guy to finish a week of exams and call me back, plus his misses is an expat too, my first one, exciting. Guess what I'll hopefully be doing.... well the details were sktchy but there's cheese involved which is good, and you know what they say 'when in Rome, work with cheese' and 'cheese wasn't built in a day'.

Jenny's grandmother appears to have accepted me as part of her family which made me feel oddly happy, I wasn't expecting her approval but now I have it I feel better, especially as generally The Family appears to have a fairly low opinion of me and naturally the grandmother is like the Don.

There is, perhaps mythically, a gallery in the next town, where, so legend says, a friend of a friend's boyfriend sells his work, I've seen his work, I like it, but it's character based and pretty dark, not the typical thing one sees in a smalltown gallery. My hope is, if they like him, they might, might, like me. I shall try to find out more.

Things I need: a big bookcase, somewhere further from the ground for my record player to sit.
